Illustration series #1: Summer's on

Al empezar las vacaciones y encontrarme frente a un 'abismo' de tiempo libre mi primera reacción fue, como  siempre y como a todos nos pasa, aburrirme porque 'no hay nada que hacer'. Pero poco a poco mi mente fue despertándose de ese limbo asqueroso del aburrimiento y pasé de tener demasiado tiempo inoculado entre mis mano a faltarme tiempo para todas las cosas que se me iban ocurriendo.

Experimentar nuevos métodos de pintar, ilustrar o como lo queráis llamar fue una de las cosas que primero hice, por su rapidez y por lo entretenido y divertido a la vez que me resultan las acuarelas. 

Quise hacer un dibujo que resumiera lo que llevo hasta ahora de verano: mucha piscina, granizados de limón y diversas recetas experimentales con la sandía. Espero que os guste esta refrescante ilustración.  xxx

When holidays begun for me I found myself before a whole lot of empty hours with nothing to do, something we all are familiar with right? But little by little my mind started to unwind and I suddenly changed from having nothing to do with all those hours to needing more time for all the things I wanted to do and all the ideas I wanted to put down to paper.

To experiment with new methods and techniques of drawing, painting, making illustrations or whatsoever you may call it was one of the first things I did. I found it very entertaining and fun to illustrations with watercolors, which I now am a bit more experienced in. 

In this particular one I wanted to sum up what my summer has been like until now: a lot of dipping in the pool, frozen lemonade and various watermelon recipes to refresh. Hope you like this summery illustration. xxx
